EXPLORE AFRICA: Half Term History Workshop - Day 2

Black History is World History - all year round! Come and celebrate Black History Month with us.

Join us this Half Term for Black History workshops 'Explore Africa' hosted by the Flame Tree Collective and Tuntimo

Date: October 25th & October 26th 2022

Location: CC Foundation, 18 Eltham Road, London, SE12 8TF

Time: Session 9am - 1pm, Drop Off from 8.30am

Age: Children, age 8-12

Food: Please bring a packed lunch and a bottle of water.  Strictly no nuts or products containing nuts. Please inform us of any specific dietary requirements or allergies. 

During this workshop, children will enjoy a range of activites featuring:

- Explore Africa Map game

- Games with Tuntimo

- Storytelling

- Arts & Crafts

We will cover the following topics:

Day 1 (Oct 25th)

EGYPT: Discover Ancient Egypt and the amazing stories of the pharaohs of the 18th Dynasty

THE CONGO: Find out about the 2 countries of the Congo, the legendary Queen Nzinga and how the Kingdom of Kongo is linked to the New World

Day 2 (Oct 26th)

MALI: Learn about the great Empire of Mali, the Trans-Saharan trade and the richest man who has ever lived

ETHIOPIA: Explore the kingdom of Aksum, the rock churches or Lalibela and the emperor who inspired a religion

Important Information:

- Late Collection Fee - If you are more than 15mins late in collecting your child at the end of the workshop, a late fee of £5 for every 15mins will be chargable on collection.

- Images of the children (photo and/or video) will be taken during this event and will be used solely for the purpose of our promotional material and publications. By booking this workshop, you hereby give permission and waive any rights of compensation or ownership thereto. If you do not consent to your child's image being included, please email us beforehand with your child's name and we will ensure that their image is not captured.
