PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception):

Explore Cote d'Ivoire - learn how the country got its name, how chocolate is made and enjoy a story by Lupita N'yongo which celebrates the differences in the colours of our skin.
Explore Kenya - find out about the geography and animals of Kenya. Discover how Wangari Maathai changed Africa by planting millions of trees.

Key Stage 1 (Years 1 &2):

Explore Tanzania - find out which animals make the 'Big 5', the tallest mountain in Africa and discover the rich history of Zanzibar.
Explore the Nok - learn about the mysterious stone-age sculptures of the Nok, the Hausa city-states and the warrior queen Amina.

Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6):

Explore Ancient Egypt - learn about the very first ruler of a united Egypt and discover the pharaohs of the 18th dynasty like Akhenaten, Tutankhamun and Hatshepsut.
Explore Mali - find out about the empire of Mali, the richest man who ever lived and the Dogon tribe who know the secrets of the stars.
Explore the Swahili Coast - discover the people of the coast who traded with the heart of Africa and as far away as China!
